The Wizards started their 2020-21 campaign with a meager 0-5 (1-7 including pre-season) and showed early signs of weaknesses. They managed this forgetful record even though their leading duo almost always performed well. Russell Westbrook was a little toned down in the offensive end, but Bradley Beal was always there to cover for him.

However, soon enough, the audible chatter around Beal’s trade options surfaced and everyone believed he would fly away from DC; everyone but the Washington Wizards’ organization, which remained convinced of his long stay.

In the last couple of weeks, the Wizards have struggled more than any other team in the league. They’ve dealt with injuries and health and safety protocols that sidelined many of the key bench players, eventually leading to many losing streaks. All this ensured that many of the 40+ points efforts from Bradley Beal went to waste.
But everything changed with the last-second victory over rival Brooklyn Nets, where the entire team shined. Bradley Beal helped Russell Westbrook’s 41-point effort with a stupendous clutch performance and seemed more content than ever. There was visible relief on his face, and perhaps that forced the Wizards’ organization to feel positive too.
In an interview, some key people from the franchise claimed, “Brad’s been great this year. He seems even happier than they did last year.”
Now it’s unclear whether the happiness was just a temporary post-win glow or something more concrete.
When Bradley Beal repeatedly showcased his discontent
It was just a week ago when a dejected Bradley Beal was sitting on the bench after losing to the Pelicans, even after a 47-point effort. The cameras caught him shaking his head in utter disbelief and disappointment. Even his wife had posted her unhappy reaction on Twitter. Even before that, the NBA’s highest-averaging star this season had said that his team can not even guard a parked car.
Perhaps these were reasons enough for teams like the Miami Heat, the GSW, the Bucks, or even the Clippers to believe that they could bring the championship-material player on-board. But neither Scott Brooks nor anyone from the organization has hinted at any of that happening soon.
