Last season MVP Nikola Jokic ranks number 3 while Luka Doncic stays at number 10. Veterans Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant fight for the top spot.

The two youngsters have been playing phenomenally this season. Nikola Jokic has been one of the best players this season despite being involved in some controversies. Jokic averages 25 points this season. Denver Nuggets’s poor run of form will be the only thing separating Jokic and the award. The Nuggets have been suffering from an injury crisis missing key player Jamal Murray.

Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic has also made it into the list. Despite missing three games, Doncic has had a stellar season so far. The Mavericks have had a good run of form lately. Doncic averaged 25 points and 8 rebounds per game. Although it is highly unlikely for him to win the award, breaking into the top 10 is going to do wonders for his confidence. (Source: NBA.com)

A mix of young and old: Stephen Curry

The MVP ranking list has youngsters like Jokic and Doncic, and also veterans like Chris Paul and DeMar DeRozan. 36-year-old Paul has averaged 14 points this season with his team sitting 2nd in their division. Kevin Durant chases Stephen Curry for the top spot with a 28 point season so far.

Durant faces an uphill battle with phenomenal performances from Stephen Curry. Curry averages 28 points ranking 1st in the league. The MVP battle has opened up with everyone having outstanding performances. Only time can tell who will eventually win it.
