Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors came up with a big win over the Chicago Bulls to get their first W of the season. While the Bulls are not the most intimidating team to beat, the Warriors were in serious trouble. They looked destined to go 0-3 in the season until Damion Lee stepped up and hit a game-winning three to seal the win for the Warriors.

Steph Curry, who is without the teammates that he won titles with, has a new crew to mentor. The best way to build up the confidence of the young players is by showing support when they do something incredible. And that is what Steph did after Lee hit the game-winner.

Steph is being a great veteran. Helping the younger guys build on their confidence is imperative to the success of this team.

Guards like Lee will be required to step up now considering the lack of Klay Thompson. Hopefully, this is a good start for the Warriors who finally have a W on the season.

Steph Curry: Will he step up?

While Lee hit the game-winner tonight, we can’t underestimate Steph when it comes to making these big shots. He has one of the most famous regular-season game-winners in the history of the sport.

Along with that, his shooting is a strength that seems to never wane. While his team is riddled with injuries for a second consecutive season, Steph has an opportunity to show he can carry a team.

The NBA this season has a murderers’ row of competition to get playoff spots. You could argue that 10-11 teams have playoff calibre rosters in the Western Conference. At the end of the day, only 8 will get a chance to play in the post-season.

The Warriors had the worst record in the league last season, but that was with Steph injured as well. Now that he is here with the number one overall pick and a solid (expensive) roster around him, it is time for him to lead from the front.
