The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the finalists for the 2021 class and it includes legendary names like Bill Russell, Paul Pierce, and Chris Bosh. The latter retired from the game in 2017 and has been chosen as a finalist for the 2021 Hall of Fame class.

It is a major honor for every NBA player to get inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. To go down in history as a Hall of Famer would mean everything for an athlete, and receiving a first-ballot selection would be a dream come true. 

While Chris Bosh was disappointed for not making the cut last year, he would be content with the fact that he is a solid candidate to make the Hall of Fame class this time. After missing out last year, Bosh is destined to make the cut in 2021.

Chris Bosh on being named as Hall of Fame finalist for 2021

The Basketball Hall of Fame announced 14 finalists for the 2021 class and it includes some legendary names like Bill Russell (coach) and five-time NBA champion Michael Cooper. This is a huge honor for Bosh, who was left speechless following the announcement.

“Words can’t really describe. I didn’t even know what was going on today. I was just kind of going about my regular day and I’m actually speechless. This doesn’t happen much, but I’m so appreciative. Everything that I’ve tried to give to the game of basketball and everything that basketball has done for me, it’s amazing,” Bosh mentioned on ESPN’s The Jump.

Bosh is one of the best power-forwards the league has ever seen. He finished his career with averages of 19.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game and not many retired players can boast of such a stat line. 

“You know I still wanted to be playing to this day, but everything doesn’t happen the way we want them to, but we have to make do with what we have and I’m just so appreciative and so thankful just for the opportunity to play the game and all those who helped me get here,” he added. 

Chris Bosh dominated the league during his heyday. He seemed unstoppable with the Miami Heat but had his career cut short due to a fair share of injuries. Bosh didn’t make the 2020 Hall of Fame class, but he has a solid chance this year.
