Officiating has always been a problem in the NBA. Bad calls and unnecessary technicals are no new thing. However, in the game between Brooklyn Nets and Chicago Bulls, referees seemed to only see calls for Brooklyn. They arguably missed many foul calls for the Bulls as the Nets received a big bonus on the same lines.

While the Bulls did take the game, it came down to a fight. The Brooklyn Nets, led by Kevin Durant, held a 2 point lead going into the fourth quarter. However, a big display by center Nikola Vucevic and Ayo Dosunmu in the fourth took the game away.

Fans react to poor officiating in Bulls-Nets game

It is safe to say that referees were not at their best during the game between the Bulls and Brooklyn Nets. Likewise, fans took notice and were furious. They felt the refs did not do justice with the Chicago Bulls, not calling fouls despite contact. On the other hand, the Nets arguably received calls for no reason.

Notably, DeMar DeRozan got called for a foul when Blake Griffin went out of bounds. But when he attempted to get the ball, there was no genuine contact with Blake. However, the referees still called DeRozan for the foul. Moreover, on the offense, it seemed the referees turned a blind eye, not calling out on Alex Caruso despite once being hit on the head.

The Bulls with a massive turnaround

The Bulls powered their way to a 21 point lead going on a 42-17 run in the fourth quarter. DeMar led the way yet again with 28 points while Zach Lavine notched up 24 points to go with 5 assists in the Bulls’ win. The big fourth quarter gave the Bulls a comfortable lead as they snapped a five game winning streak for the Nets.

Despite all his efforts, Kevin Durant’s 38 points and 10 rebounds couldn’t get the job done. He was the only Nets player to score over 20 as he was making shot after shot. Apart from him, LaMarcus Aldridge came up big with 19 points in just 23 minutes. James Harden was poor once again, shooting just 4-11 from the field to go with 5 assists.
