The new era of basketball is coming, with young players like Ja Morant, and LaMelo Ball getting selected as all-stars and averaging 27.4 and 20.1 in the regular season. It is safe to say that the new generation of NBA players does not shy away from hard work. Recently Shareef O’Neal, son of NBA Hall of Famer and 4-time champion Shaquille O’Neal, appreciated Josh Christopher, who skipped fashion week to do some extra practice for the summer league.

Shareef O’Neal is a young basketball talent who plays for LSU and has high hopes of getting selected in the 2022 draft. According to LakersNation, the Lakers are hosting another workout on June 21, their final workout before Thursday’s NBA Draft.

This crop included six prospects, with LSU’s Shareef O’ Neal headlining the group.

What did Shareef O’Neal say?

Shareef was seen supporting Josh Christopher. He reposted his tweet and said, “Real 1.” In the original tweet, Josh can be seen practicing layups in a video. He also added, “Thank u 4 shining light on me! Skipped fashion week to get more work for summer league next month every rep matters.” 

Josh Christopher is 20 years old and played for Arizona State college, as a freshman. He was limited to 15 games because of injury and averaged 14.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

In the 2021 draft, the Houston Rockets selected him as the 24th pick in the first round. Christopher is not in starting 5 for the rockets and averages 7.9 points per game but still had some great games. He scored 30 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves coming off the bench.

Rockets started rebuilding their team in 2021 after trading James Harden, and PJ Tucker, and now have a young lineup. They had 20 wins and 64 losses and were the last seed in the western conference this season. But it is not something to worry about as with players like Jalen Green, and Josh Christopher, their future seems bright.
