The vigor with which the Dallas Mavericks played against the top team in the Eastern Conference is commendable. However, that energy wasn’t enough to close the matchup with a victory. The Philadelphia 76ers are just a way better team than them and most others this season. However, the highlight of the game was Seth Curry playing against his former team.

The Mavs had traded him to Philly in the offseason last year. Although there is no resentment from Curry’s side for the trade, he still threw some shade at the Mavericks after defeating them 111-97 tonight.

Is Seth Curry feeling a little cocky?

When a player goes up against his former team, there is always more spice to that matchup than there normally would be. Dropping all of his threes and scoring 15 points against them, Seth wanted to remind Dallas of his value after the game.

Although Seth insisted that he had no hard feelings after being traded, his next statement came across otherwise.

He said, ” I just think they made a bad business decision.”

But he also said that he actually enjoyed playing with his former teammates and coaches.

Curry, who is having a stellar season with the Philadelphia 76ers, has improved their roster with his perimeter shooting. He is averaging 12.9 points this season and providing the Sixers with the floor spacing they were missing for so many seasons.

The Mavericks, on the other hand, are struggling to crawl up the Western Conference. With their 14-14 record, there is still a lot of doubt if they will even make it to the playoffs this season.

Easy win for the Philadelphia 76ers?

Nobody would say that the win was a piece of cake. The Mavericks tried to keep the game close in the first quarter. But the talented stars of the Sixers ensured a lead, and there was no looking back after.

Dallas even tried to decrease the deficit in the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the most dominant team in the league this season. In fact, Luka Doncic was unable to put up big numbers tonight, which also played a role in their loss. He only scored 19 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds.

The number of turnovers the Mavericks had was unbelievable. They gave up the ball 18 times through their immature mistakes.

And without a secondary scorer, Luka was pretty much on his own trying to keep their ship afloat. With that, it is clear that the 76ers are the winners of the Seth Curry trade and the Mavericks are the losers.
