Talking about luck, it looks like the Toronto Raptors have none left for themselves. How can a team work their way through a game, catch up to leads, miss buzzer-beaters and end up losing twice in a row? Well, it looks like the Raptors can teach everyone the art of losing by a single point.

First came their 106-105 loss to the Golden State Warriors. Nobody was expecting the Raptors to go for a blowout win, or even a win for that matter, after the mess they created in the first three quarters. They were trailing by around 17 points when the fans saw a valiant comeback from them.
They were actually leading by one point with 8 seconds left on the clock and they still couldn’t seal the deal. Siakam’s turnaround jumper bounced back from the rim and the time was up.

Another close game against the Portland Trail Blazers, saw the same fate. He was unable to convert in the final few seconds and once again, the Raptors lost, 112-111.

Nick Nurse hopes for better luck for the Raptors
After watching his team work hard, only to lose out on games that had their name written all over, Nurse talked about these unfortunate events. He said, “These 50-50 games, 50-50 would sound really good right now. We just haven’t got our share of those yet.”
Keeping his hopes up, he also stated, “The darn ball won’t bounce our way. That’s the 3rd game this year where one’s gone in and out at the buzzer on us, hopefully, it’s going to balance out as the season goes here a little bit.”

Unfortunately, it looks like the Raptors will need a miracle to come back from the hole they’ve dug for themselves. Standing at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a 2-8 record, chances of their revival are bleak.
If only they win at least a few more consecutive games, can they make fans believe in them again. They are up against the Charlotte Hornets next, who are doing surprisingly well for themselves this season. Can the Raptors pull themselves together?
