In a recent interview with the Brooklyn Nets forward, Durant gave a shoutout to the Union. He admitted, “Team ownership is definitely a goal of mine”. But he appeared to tread cautiously since it is a different league altogether. He said, “I just want to see some good leadership”. Durant hoped for a fresh start with the team. He also claimed that the fans would get more excited about the new leadership of the team.

Good leadership for the Commanders has been in question ever since its owner has caught up in scandals.

Dan Synder who has been at the center of controversies for the past few weeks has decided to sell the franchise. He has owned the team since 1999 and repeatedly told that he had no intention to sell.

Kevin Durant further added that Jeff Bezos and Jay-Z? “breathe greatness”, and that the team can benefit from renewed leadership. Durant told ESPN that he would love to be a part of the ownership.

“It is one of the most lucrative teams in sports, so I am sure there’s going to be a lot of bidders”. There is much interest in what could be a star-studded bid.
