Stephen Curry is currently focused on one thing and one thing only: breaking Ray Allen’s record of three-pointers. However, in the match against the Philadelphia 76ers, Matisse Thybulle steals the show by restricting Curry’s attempts at the same.

To break the record, Curry needs more than 9 three-pointers. Fans are hoping that the Warriors superstar will be able to achieve the feat in their next game against the Pacers.

76ers defense clamps down on Stephen Curry in victory over the Warriors

The Warriors only scored 93 points in their last match as the Sixers made sure it wouldn’t cross that mark. This was one of their lowest points total in the season thus far. Thybulle played an integral role in preventing Curry to score three points as he made a strong effort to do that while the Sixers blocked him beyond the arc. It was indeed a sight to behold.

After the game, when Thybulle was asked about his efforts, he responded:

It was no secret that he’s going for this record right now, Jo [Embiid] and I talked today during shootaround and he said we’re not letting it happen in our house, so I took it upon myself to make sure it didn’t,”

Thybulle got Curry stuck on the left-wing by the second quarter, letting him shoot only 1-of-6 in the first quarter.

During the period in which Thybulle was fouled due to his intensity in stopping Curry, the latter saw the opportunity and scored eight points to close out the period without the shooting guard on the court.

As a result of Thybulle’s outstanding performance, Curry’s hopes of breaking the record are on hold. Although the season is not over yet, we can still hope to see him break the record in the next game. Seeing these two players competing against each other is always entertaining.
