The New Orleans Pelicans are going to the NBA playoffs after defeating the Los Angeles Clippers in the play-in game. They were down big in the fourth quarter but their coach rallied them with an inspirational speech that propelled them to the playoffs. The speech was so good that it reminded fans of Michael Jordan and even Stephen Curry couldn’t help but applaud it.

The Pelicans were down by 10 at the end of the third quarter and they needed a big effort to seal the deal against a resilient Clippers squad. Then their coach, Willie Green fired up his players and asked them not to stop fighting. He asked not to give it up and said this is what they worked hard for.

This charged up his players as they rallied back to secure a 105-101 victory.

This speech was reminiscent of Jordan. Jordan was always hard on his teammates and he never gave up until the end. And that’s the reason his name is bought up in GOAT conversations.

Green rallied his troops to victory and made his players believe that the comeback was possible. That was something Jordan would do regularly. After seeing the pep talk on Twitter, Curry saluted the coach on Twitter.

At the start of the season, no one expected the Pelicans to make the playoffs. Their franchise player, Zion Williamson was out for the season. They had a new head coach. The Pelicans started 3-16. But that didn’t matter as they overcame all odds to make the playoffs.
