LeBron recently became the first-ever active basketball player to become a billionaire. Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant were the only other basketball players to achieve this feat, but he did after more than ten years of his retirement. During a recent episode of UNDISPUTED, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe talked about LeBron’s friend circle and how he had a blueprint to follow.

Shannon said, “LeBron was lucky because a lot of times you get people that take advantage of you along the way.. these guys got each other’s back stood back to back fended off all corners, and say you know what we can do this.

He continued, “LeBron James has kept his head down and here we are.. the blueprint was laid of how to do things he saw what Michael did after basketball, he saw what Magic did after basketball, he saw what Shaq did after basketball.. he didn’t say well hell I ain’t gonna wait till after basketball I will do it while I am playing.”

LeBron James – The modern-day legend

The Cleveland Cavaliers drafted him first overall in the legendary 2003 NBA Draft. Since LeBron was from Ohio, this was a sort of homecoming for him. LeBron went to the league directly from high school and dominated from day one.

In his first stint with the Cavaliers, he got individual success but couldn’t find much post-season success. This would change when we went to the Miami Heat in 2010.
