It is clear that the Los Angeles Lakers haven’t delivered up to standards. After making a blockbusters trade, Russell Westbrook has struggled with his new side. While fans have given him the heat, his people are also suffering. NBA fans were left disgusted as Nina Westbrook spoke about the side effects of Russ’ basketball performances on their family.
The Westbrook trade left many fans in shock. While there were many better options, LeBron James put his faith in Westbrook. While the initial hype ran with the purple and gold, things haven’t lived up for Westbrook. He is having the worst season in a long time, putting up 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists.

While the triple-double king is always in the bad limelight, his family is also getting dragged into it. Recently, his wife Nina spoke about the extent to which fans have gone with her.
Laker fans taking the worst route with Russell Westbrook
Nina Westbrook took to Twitter to voice her concerns over the ongoing situation with her family. She explained fans are going as far as sending death threats to the Westbrook family due to what is happening on the court. Likewise. NBA fans did not take well to the onslaught sent towards the Westbrooks.

While it is okay for fans to be angry with Russ, dragging his family takes it one step further. Nina Westbrook and the family have no connection to the basketball court. They are simply the loved ones of Russell Westbrook. Going after them is unruly and horrible behavior from the fans of the purple and gold. Westbrook has been open to criticism, mostly. But to take an approach of threatening his family is wrong on moral grounds.

Russell Westbrook hasn’t been up to his standards. However, his role has changed big time on the Lakers. With constant injuries and changes in the lineups, he has had to alter his game now and then. His inefficiency remains to be inexcusable. However, to put a threat on his family takes it beyond criticism, going into a threat to their security.
