One poor season can tarnish the legacy of an NBA player in a flash. That is the case right now with Lakers guard, Russell Westbrook. Joining the Lakers, the expectations were big from Brodie. However, when it came time to take the floor, Russ was not the same player. The former MVP severely struggled to find his right fit and was subject to a lot of scrutiny this season. With the Lakers looking to make a move for him, three teams have come up as potential destinations for Westbrook, including the New York Knicks.

The trade for Westbrook was off from the very beginning. With a wide array of players on the free agency market, the Lakers had a great choice. However, instead of going for a shooter, the purple and gold opted for Russ. With LeBron supporting the move, fans were optimistic to see how things go. But it turned out to be their worst nightmare as the Lakers have won just 32 games this season.

Hence, with a move almost inevitable, three NBA teams have shown their interest, including the Knicks, Hornets and Rockets.

Looking at his single season with the purple and gold, it is understandable for fans to not want to see Westbrook on their team. However, each team could benefit from having a player of his skill set on their roster. After a failed season for the Knicks as well. They need to find the right star pieces. And Russ could fit that piece well and lead their offense with Randle and RJ Barrett. Brodie has proved to be lethal while on the Houston Rockets. His return could see him centered around a young core who are willing to do anything it takes to win. As the sole star on the team, Westbrook has always excelled.
When it comes to the Charlotte Hornets, it seems Michale Jordan himself has an interest in signing the guard. Notably, Jordan even said Russ reminds him of his younger self back in 2016. Hence, with interest surely a factor, Westbrook could add great pace to the already steamy Hornets offense. However, he will become the backup point guard behind LaMelo Ball.
Despite having a bad season, Westbrook picked things up towards the end. Averaging 18.5 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, the former MVP still has the tools to make a huge impact. Where do you think Westbrook will be next season? Let us know in the comments below.
