Tom Brady, best renowned for his exploits on the football field, once teamed up with Jordan on the golf course. The two magicians of their respective sports found common ground and together won Jordan’s special invite-only golf tournament in 2006.

Michael Jordan‘s passion for golf spurred him to establish the Michael Jordan Celebratory Invitational golf tournament. The tournament ran from 2001 to 2014 and raised funds for a charity supported by the Chicago Bulls legend.

Jordan found insurmountable success on the NBA court. However, the same cannot be said about his performance in his own tournament. In the years that the competition was held, he only won it twice. Once in 2011, when he teamed up with his former Bulls teammate Toni Kukoc and the other win was in 2006, when he joined forces with Tom Brady.

Brady received the invite to the tournament and got the chance to team up with Michael Jordan himself. The star-studded pairing of Jordan and Brady surged to a two-shot victory in the tournament. MJ’s former NBA rival and good friend, Charles Barkley, also took part in the tournament, teaming up with renowned baseball pitcher John Smoltz.

Following leading the first round, Tom Brady said that he was in awe of what Jordan was doing out there. He also said, “for a big guy, he’s got soft hands”.

After winning the tournament, Brady specifically mentioned Jordan’s “chipping and putting” as the reason the duo was able to walk away with a triumph.
