Recently, Stephen Curry spoke about the rookies on the Warriors.

Steph explained how their rookies are different compared to the other teams. He also spoke about how he aspires to help the rookies and develop them.

While speaking to The Athletic, the question about the Warriors’ youngsters came in. Curry explained how things are different because they have players with championship experience on the team. It is something he, Klay Thompson or Draymond Green didn’t have when they were coming up in the league. Steph admitted that he does his part to pass that knowledge and wants them to focus on the goal and improve accordingly.

Curry explained: “When we were in our first, second, third year in the league — me, Klay and Draymond — we didn’t have this. We had some good vets, Jarrett Jack and some others that helped us become professionals, but no one that had won championships before to come in the locker next to us. Once our guys tap into that, it’s going to look different than some other rookies around the league.”

Steph further spoke about how the priority goes to their role rather than the numbers they produce. This can be seen in the case of Jonathan Kuminga. While the rookie doesn’t play the most minutes, he helps out the Warriors immensely. He is an upcoming talent and is focused on the sole goal of winning a championship.

Stephen Curry is implying that rookies will look different as they may not have the best numbers. However, he wants them to improve according to the set priority so they can deliver on the biggest stage.
