The Los Angeles Lakers have picked things up in their recent games. They have figured out a winning formula and won three straight games. However, problems have still emerged. Before the season, they received criticism for signing only veterans to their roster. Now, the Lakers may be planning another veteran.

For the greater part, the defense has been the main issue for the Lakers. However, their offense does go stagnant when they struggle to make shots. Especially in late-game scenarios, they don’t have a reliable scorer. For this reason, they have their eyes on Isaiah Thomas. He has made a name for himself in being a closer.

Isiah Thomas to the Lakers?

For the longest time, Thomas has made it clear he wants to get back to the league. The first step came in him scoring a record of 81 points in a game. However, after talking with a few teams, his return did not come through. Now, after playing for the USA, he made his G League debut. Thomas dominated, scoring 42 points, and put all NBA teams on notice. It seems to have stirred the Lakers.

According to NBA analyst Shams Charania, Thomas could sign a 10-day contract with the purple and gold. This could go both ways for the Lakers. Thomas is a reliable scorer and his ability to produce late in the game could come in handy. However, this could leave a major hole for them on the defensive side of things.

Despite his size, Thomas has proved he can be one of the premier players in the league. In his time with the Celtics, Thomas was an MVP candidate. He made scoring look easy, and when it came to being clutch, Thomas was the guy. However, after he was shipped off to Cleveland in a deal for Kyrie Irving, injuries took his career in a downward spiral.
