The Lakers are in a thick soup, to say the least. They’re already four losses down and now the clouds of injuries are darkening for them. First, there were a couple of role players and then it was LeBron James who entered the injury list. And now, it is Anthony Davis as the latest entrant in the list of unfit players.

Notably, the star forward was already struggling to score tonight. He was 1/5 from the field and wasn’t looking anything like himself. As a result, the Blazers achieved a massive lead on the Lakers right from the beginning of the game.

How did the Lakers perform without AD?

By halftime, the Lakers were trailing 36-15. However, the second quarter was a cool breeze for them as they allowed the Blazers just 15 points. Apart from the couple of misses in the closing minutes before HT, the Lakers saw Russell Wesbrook’s first points (a three-pointer) and Carmelo Anthony’s turnaround fadeaways in this quarter alone.

Still, the visitors were up against the dangerous duo of Lillard and Nurkic, who were very efficient in the first half. For the Lakers to win, Russ must go big in the last two quarters.
