Now, Twitter is digging into James’ comments at the start of the season. While James was hoping Westbrook’s role would help, his comments are going against him.

Fans were left in shock when the Lakers traded for Westbrook. However, James was always on board with the deal. But the King’s intuition didn’t work out. Brodie had a poor start, and the Lakers fell apart. In addition, the trio wasn’t much in action together, playing just 21 games together.

There were many complaints about the purple and gold at the start of the season. But James was never in doubt. The Akron Hammer urged fans to keep the same energy when the seasons. Moreover, when it came to his partnership with Russ, he tried mocking the fans. While it was good to see the King hold confidence in his team, it seems his comments are now backfiring.

It is evident the partnership did not work out. The Lakers have won just 31 games and are out of the playoff picture as well. But not much blame should go on Russ. While he did start slow, injuries played a big part in the Lakers’ downfall. With Anthony Davis and LeBron James picking up injuries through the season, Westbrook was the most regular player for the purple and gold.
