Recently, Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett shared a tale of when he felt like he belonged in the NBA.

So many tried, so many failed. Provoking the legendary red devils was a rookie error, and many teams have been destroyed in the process. In the 80s as well as 90s, Chicago dominated the league, courtesy of their legends. Thus, when Garnett guarded the likes of MJ and Pip, it was the test that confirmed his ability. He went on to make 15 All-star appearances, and to nobody’s surprise.

Kevin Garnett shares famous Scottie Pippen story
Playing with the best naturally makes you feel like you belong. For the now 45-year-old Garnett, playing with Scottie Pippen was his moment of reckoning. He said that many years ago, Isiah Thomas helped him believe that he could make it in the league. In a recent interview with the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ podcast, he revealed a hilarious story that was eventually life-changing for him.
“I saw the same kind of following and the difference was the game that Isiah Thomas, I actually speak through this. I had a chance to come into a gym and play with Michael Jordan. I came in and played Michael Jordan, he put me on Scottie Pippen. We got into this game and I’m playing against Scottie Pippen. After that game, Isiah Thomas pulled me to the side. You see what you just did? You can play in the league,” quoted Garnett.
