Shaquille O’Neal is the most dominant force in NBA history. A ruthless phenom who was virtually unstoppable. Being among the top players, Shaq earned his money by doing it all. However, over the years, the league has changed. And as an analyst, The Big Diesel has been raw about his thoughts on the salaries of some players. Looking at this, Kevin Durant couldn’t help but see the irony in his complaints.

After his retirement, Shaq is a regular analyst for TNT. Being from the era of bigs, the four-time champion is most disappointed with their fall in the ranks. He has called out the likes of Dwight Howard and Rudy Gobert for their low production. O’Neal even expressed his displeasure with Utah Jazz’s Gobert’s massive $250 million contract. The Big Aristotle felt “petty” with the former DPOY getting such a massive contract.

Kevin Durant laughs over Shaquille O’Neal’s take

Kevin Durant is one of the players who are active on Twitter. So when he saw Shaq’s opinion, the Slim Reaper had to comment on it. The former MVP seemed upset over Rudy Gobert’s $250 million supermax extension. But it seems Shaquille O’Neal forgot he is worth $400 million himself. And Durant had to remind him.

He reacted to Shaq lashing out and said: “Shaquille is hilarious. You’re a billionaire bro lol.”

Outside the NBA, Shaquille O’Neal created himself into one of the best business tycoons out there. The $400 million worth businessman has done his hard work even outside the court. However, The Big Diesel has always been a fierce competitor. After his NBA career fetched him around $292 million, players are now making that with a simple extension.

The sport has become much bigger, and with time contracts are only going to increase. But to Shaq, it won’t likely make much of a difference with his business portfolio. Hence, Durant was like most NBA fans out there, surprised to see Shaq having an issue over money.
