A few months ago, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant rocked the NBA world with a trade request. This came while the Nets were going through a sensitive time with both Durant and Irving looking to leave.

However, after all the drama, it seems the Durant saga is going to continue for quite some time. The latest report surrounding him suggests that he does not have any leverage with the team.

According to eminent NBA insider Brian Windhorst, nothing has happened in the Kevin Durant situation. He said, “Nothing has happened. The dynamic around Kevin Durant hasn’t changed at all… Durant clearly does not have leverage with the Brooklyn Nets… We may be here at the end of August, we may be here in mid-September.”

After all the drama, it seems both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant cannot find a way out of the team. While Irving has been linked to the Lakers, KD has been linked to the Phoenix Suns and the Boston Celtics.

The Brooklyn Nets boasted of having one of the best rosters in the league not very long ago. With stars like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, a lot was expected from the team.

However, it all went downhill. Harden left the team to join the Philadelphia 76ers and the Nets collapsed in the first round of the playoffs against the Boston Celtics.

Moreover, Kyrie Irving and KD’s futures are still unsure. Interestingly enough, the Boston Celtics, the team which eliminated the Nets from the playoffs, were interested in Durant.

According to reports, the Nets asked for a package of Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and several other draft picks in order to send Durant the other way. This came after the Celtics offered Brown, Derrick White and draft picks in order to get KD.
