The NBA along with the rest of the world was waiting to see fans back inside the Arenas for more than a year. However, that hasn’t gone as per the expectations if the last one week is anything to go by. In the latest incident involving an overexcited fan, a Wizards fan ran out onto the court in their game 4 against the Sixers.

Now, the league, which has left it up to the franchises and the sports facility management to take action, might want to interfere in this scenario. The situation is evidently going out of hands with every other game witnessing such incidents.
When a Wizards fan stunned the on-court athletes
Eight minutes into the crucial third quarter, when the Wizards were leading the game 80-74, a fan decided to take to the floor. The youngster came in sprinting and fell near the rim as a security guard tackled him before he could reach any of the players. The fan’s intentions were unclear, but his ill-timed move definitely hindered the flow of the game.

This wasn’t just an inconsequential act in the middle of a decisive playoff game. In fact, chances were that the fan could’ve harmed a player and it could’ve even led to a stoppage. Plus, one must not forget the Russell Westbrook episode where a season ticket holder dropped popcorn over him and ran. Such acts have the potential to further aggravate the fans of opposing teams to seek similar revenge.
