Joel Embiid is playing some phenomenal basketball this year. He has been the leading contender for the MVP award at the start of the season. And he isn’t shy to go at the other frontrunners whenever he meets them. But he also doesn’t stand any disrespect to him or any of the great players.

Embiid was on JJ Reddick’s podcast ‘Old Man And Three’ and talked about James Harden, Kevin Durant, Ben Simmons, and other topics. There was a moment in the podcast which caught everyone’s attention.

Reddick called Embiid one of the three best players alongside Kevin Durant. Embiid asks who the third player is. And the answer Reddick gave did not impress Embiid and he let him know.

Reddick said Jokic was one of the three best players in the world. Embiid wasn’t pleased, and said, “Where’s Giannis?… That’s a Finals MVP. That?s a 2 time MVP, a Finals MVP!.. That’s crazy.”?Reddick defends himself by saying he’s in the next group and there are too many good players now.

Embiid came to the defense of his friend and competitor Giannis and he did not stand for any slander. Even though Giannis and Embiid will be going at it when they meet in the playoffs and regular season, Embiid still respects Giannis. He recognizes Giannis’s greatness and his excellent level of play.
