While Tatum is one of the best players in the league currently, he had a tough childhood. During an interview, Tatum and the host visited his childhood home, where he spent 15 years.

He spoke about the various struggles his family had to endure during his childhood, including procuring food. He even revealed how his neighbor helped once his family get some food and how they played an important role in helping Tatum become the man he is today.

He said, “It’s crazy to think where I am now and I can never forget where I came from. I remember coming home and it being a pink eviction notice on the house and my mom crying the whole night and me being upset. I mean, we had a blue tarp on the whole right side of the side because we didn’t have money to fix the roof.”

Despite facing so many hardships while growing up, Tatum made a name for himself in college and was drafted by the Boston Celtics.

Thanks to his brilliant performances, the team awarded their best player with a huge contract. The Celtics and Tatum agreed to a $195 million deal that runs down his contract for 5 years.

Jayson Tatum has been one of the best players this season. He has led his team to a historic final beating the likes of the Brooklyn Nets, the Bucks, and the Miami Heat on their way.

With a strong core of Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart, the Celtics are strong contenders for the title. They face the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry who is chasing his fourth NBA title.

Tatum averages 26.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists this season. He averages 27.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in 18 playoff games. Thanks to his performances, he earned the Eastern Conference Playoffs MVP award.
