Growing up, Tatum looked up to the Mamba, and he was his favorite player. Back in 2018, he got the chance to work out with Kobe Bryant and even appear on his show, Bryant’s Detail. While taking on the Nets, he made sure to make his idols proud as he took the ball right to the rim and exploded over two defenders.

Jayson Tatum came into the NBA with high praise on his back. Coming in from Duke, Tatum was a top prospect and an easy third pick in 2019 for the Celtics. Since then, Tatum has come out better every season. Furthermore, this year he worked extremely hard during the off-season. And while taking on the Nets, his physical improvement came to show. He had fans reminiscing over Kobe Bryant’s dunk against the Nets.

Tatum has grown into an All-Star caliber player as he looks to take the Celtics to new heights. With Boston, the young duo of Jaylen Brown and Tatum is the centerpiece of their offense. While the young duo still has things to learn, they did not disappoint while taking on the Nets.

Currently the 6th seed, the Celtics wrapped up a win over the Brooklyn Nets to improve to 35-26. Jayson Tatum led the way with 30 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists shooting 50%. Jaylen Brown put up 18 points and 6 assists in the Celtics’ win. Marcus Smart had an efficient night as wellscoring 15 points with 6 assists and 2 steals while shooting 5/6 from the field.

For the Nets, Seth Curry stood out yet again in the 129-106 loss. He accumulated 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist. Bruce Brown added 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals to the mix. Off the bench, Cam Thomas and Kessler Edwards combined for 23 points. However, the Nets lacked a steady offense shooting just 41% from the field and 24.1% from downtown.
