The Boston Celtics ended their 2020 season by losing out in the Eastern Conference Finals. Such a positive result put massive expectations on them this season, but Jayson Tatum and the team are yet to obtain a winning record after almost 50 games into the regular season. What’s on their minds?

Well, to share a part of it, Jayson Tatum recently connected with Stephen A. Smith where he answered numerous questions posed to him by the veteran journalist. Smith was keen on identifying how Tatum has been taking in the Celtics’ win/loss record all along.
Boston came into the season as the Eastern Conference favorites, but right now they’re currently the eighth seed behind the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks.

Jayson Tatum reveals the Boston Celtics have always been silent achievers
The Boston Celtics last won the championship in 2008. Since then, the team has managed to make the conference finals four times, and Jayson Tatum has been a part of three of those runs, so he knows what it takes to make a championship run.
Stephen A. Smith shot a direct question to Tatum and asked him how it felt to know that the fans aren’t ranking the Celtics as the Eastern Conference favorites anymore.
“It’s my fourth season, so the previous two years that we did make the Eastern Conference Finals, no one predicted us to. My first year when Gordon and Kyrie got hurt, we were supposed to lose in the first round because we were young and not experienced,” Tatum began.
“Last year, we kind of had a new team. Nobody expected us to get there either. So the only year the people did expect us to get to the championship uh was my second year so and that didn’t work out,” he added.
Jayson Tatum seems to be implying that the Boston Celtics have always been dark horses in the recent past. In fact, not many expected them to reach the ECF last season, but they did.
With a 23-25 record, the Celtics have a lot of work to do to punch their ticket to the 2021 playoffs. How far will they go this season?
