After Nichelle read out the details of the movie and how it is based upon African culture, O’Neal decided to have some fun. “I did my 23 and me I have no African in me. I am all Jamaican”, said Shaquille O’Neal.

Although he might be joking in this instance, Shaq has done a lot for his community. He has numerous philanthropy ventures under his name and he launched a special medical program a few years ago.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend has a heart of gold. This is evident in the number of social schemes under his belt and his generous donations whenever the need arises.

A few years ago, Shaquille O’Neal partnered with Arbor Pharmaceuticals, LLC to launch a campaign designed to raise awareness around the heart failure disparity in the African American community.

Even though I don’t suffer from heart failure, when I found out about this disparity, I knew I had to get involved and help educate my community about the burden of heart failure for African Americans“, said Shaq.

Studies around the world have shown that African Americans are 20 times more susceptible to heart failure compared to other ethnic groups. Safe to say, Shaq’s campaign will surely help out to help cure the disease.
