McCollum is one of the elite offensive guards in the game today. When Damian Lillard was out with injury at the beginning of the season, he truly shined with his offense. However, even with Lillard, the duo is on point most of the times. Now, both of these athletes have suffered serious injuries.

All-Star guard, Damian Lillard, went down for the Blazers first. He has missed the last four games for them. While McCollum took the offensive load for these games, he picked up this injury in the final quarter of their game against the Boston Celtics. Despite being listed probable for the game against the Los Angeles Clippers, he did not take part in that game.

A CT scan later showed that he had a collapsed lung.

Upon hearing this, NBA players such as LeBron James, Bradley Beal, Jamal Murray and others showed their support for the shooting guard. They prayed for McCollum and wished him a speedy recovery. It only shows that the spirit of competitiveness exists in the court only, and the spirit of brotherhood is one that always persists.

Normally, a collapsed lung can take anywhere between two to six weeks to recover, depending on the scale and cause of injury. During the time, chest pain and shortness of breath are the common symptoms. While a normal person can resume activity with the doctor’s approval, it will be a slow process for CJ McCollum.

Basketball takes a heavy toll on the body and right breathing through the game is key. Hence, the Trail Blazers will look to take no chance and give their superstar all the time he needs to heal from this injury.
