The Oscars took a wild turn with the slap gate incident. The entire audience was left in shock after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock and started heckling at him. While Rock did get under his skin, it was a totally different story with Kobe Bryant. Despite all his attempts, the comedian was not able to get any reaction from the Mamba.

Kobe Bryant not one to break

In his 20 year illustrious career, the Mamba carried himself like the fiercest competitor in the building. He kept only one goal in mind, which was to win the game. Bryant never let anything phase him. Not even one of the funniest comedians doing his best to make Kobe laugh.

During a game in 2010, Rock tried to put his skills to the test against one of the firmest competitors. However, Kobe Bryant was as determined as ever. The fan’s reaction made it clear that Chris Rock was doing his best. But breaking Kobe is practically impossible.

This determination is what propelled the Mamba to become one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Amassing over 30k points, his competitive spirit took him to five NBA titles.

There aren’t many who can replicate the total focus and obsession Bryant had with the game. His hard work and laser focus gave birth to the Mamba Mentality, which has inspired all the youth to work towards their goals. Hence, a small comedic show by Rock was nothing to Kobe in the face of getting a victory.
