WNBA star Brittney Griner was the first openly gay athlete to be endorsed by Nike. She publicly came out in 2013 after the Phoenix Mercury drafted her. Griner was a college basketball icon as she broke multiple records during her time in college. She also helped her team win the national championship in 2012. Griner is from Houston, Texas. So it was initially hard for her when she moved to Arizona to play for the Mercury. She had to figure out things quickly in Phoenix. And Griner ate in a sports bar nearly every night.

As per reports, Griner ate at the sports bar the Tilted Kilt almost every night during her early days in Phoenix. The sports bar is just a block away from Mercury’s arena which would have made it an easier choice. Interestingly, according to reports, Griner likes femme types.

The author also claims she knows what Griner wants for her next tattoo. Talking about Griner’s interest in feminine girls, the author wrote, “Her next tattoo, Griner tells me, on her inner bicep, will be an image of ultrafemme icon Marilyn Monroe.”?

Brittney Griner first married fellow WNBA star, Glory Johnson. She played for the Tulsa shock at the time. Before the towering center, Johnson had only dated men in her life. However, things changed when she met the Mercury star. The star duo soon fell in love and were engaged to each other in no time.

But things took a turn during a heated argument. As per reports, the argument escalated, and the couple started fighting. Johnson claimed that she tried to calm Griner down but was not able to. Johnson’s sister witnessed the fight and called 911. The couple endured minor injuries during the fight and was arrested for domestic violence.

However, the lovers were able to reflect on the things that had unfolded and were able to work past them. Johnson said that when she chose to stick with Griner, the center cried. And promised Johnson that she would make her time worth it. Within one month of their arrest, they tied the knot. But just one month later, Griner filed for an annulment. It was denied and the couple then filed for a divorce.
