Since last season, there have been talks surrounding Draymond Green. The 2017 Defensive Player of The Year was fetching a max deal with the Warriors, the very team that drafted him. After not renewing his contract, it seemed Green would play out his final year, the 2023-24 season. Yet, the bombshell dropped today that the four-time NBA champion will entertain offers from other franchises.

According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, Green has officially declined his $27.5 million player option to play in the coming season. Instead, he’ll enter the unrestricted free agency market to potentially hunt for a new franchise. So is this the end of the Warriors’ ‘Big 3’ era? Well, that might not be true.

Adrian Wojnarowski relayed information from Green’s agent, Rich Paul. According to the Klutch Sports representative, Green will give priority to his talks with the Warriors. In addition, Wojnarowski also admitted that the Bay is “motivated” to sign him to a new deal. While the initial headlines might have been a scare for the Dub Nation, it seems like Draymond Green still has the Warriors’ yellow running through his veins.

Many feel LeBron James is behind the forward’s shocking decision. Fans also suspect that Green could head to the Los Angeles Lakers to team up with his good friend.

Some, however, were upset by the notion that this could be the end of the Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Green era in the Bay.
