Ime Udoka has dominated the news in recent weeks, but not for reasons he would be proud of. The 45-year-old embroiled himself in trouble when reports of his alleged romance with a Boston Celtics staffer surfaced. Upon breaking the team’s code of conduct, he was suspended by the franchise for the 2022/23 season.

This entire saga may wind up tainting his relationships, particularly the one he has with his fiance Nia Long. Notably, they’ve been together for over a decade. All roads lead back to Boston, where the two met for the first time in 2010. They were introduced by a mutual friend, and they hit it off right away.

While they were totally immersed in their respective careers, the two worked it out and proved to be inseparable when challenging times loomed. In fact, the couple welcomed a son in November 2011. However, before their son entered their lives as a bundle of joy, Udoka and Long had little hope of having children.

Before Nia Long gave birth to Kez Sunday Udoka, a doctor visit had left her and Ime Udoka with little to no hope of having a child together. However, according to her, she turned to God in search of answers and hope.

“I honestly asked God for this,” Long said of her pregnancy while talking to EBONY. She then recounted driving home from the doctor’s and calling Udoka, saying she was upset because the doctor said it would be difficult for them to have children. However, despite the sad revelation by the doctor, the couple remained in good spirits and believed they’ll be able to expand their family.

She stated that the next time Udoka visited her, they both remarked that they didn’t believe she can’t get pregnant. And as per her, the next thing she knew, she was pregnant.

On November 7, 2011, the couple was blessed with a baby boy. She was 41 years old when she gave birth to Kez. Long previously stated that she rejected societal stigmas and doctors, telling her to have a baby by a certain age.
