The Warriors definitely failed to find a place in the playoffs, but they impressed one and all with a brave season. Steph Curry led a shorthanded team plagued with injuries and dragged them all the way to #8 seed before losing both the play-ins. In a way, they were just a clutch three-pointer away from defeating the Lakers to take the #7 rank.

However, the most genuine followers of the Warriors must feel relieved that GSW failed to enter the postseason. This, because Steph Curry was not completely fit, and there were strong chances he could’ve worsened his health if he had played a whole series.

The Warriors legend played under pain

Remember how Steph Curry had injured his tailbone against the Rockets after falling on a metal step? He had missed just five games after that and had made an impressive comeback against the Heat and the Bulls.

Now, after taking a loss against the Grizzlies, guard-forward Kent Bazemore had recently mentioned how Curry played with his injury. Next, even GM Bob Myers agreed and revealed that the baby faced assassin had a hairline fracture and not just a contusion.

Reacting to this brave gesture, an established Sports Medicine name, Dr. Nirav Pandya, recently gave his assessment. The popular MD expressed, “For him in terms of management, the biggest thing for him was dealing with the pain. So that just indicates he probably was dealing with a lot more pain during the season, which makes his performance all the more remarkable.”

The doctor called Steph Curry his MVP for a concrete reason

The expert even tagged Steph as his MVP and backed that with understandable reasoning.

He first explained that Curry will be perfectly healthy before the upcoming season and then added, “The thing that was the most amazing is that the way the athletes really deal with this, they get afraid of actually falling out, they can move, they can do things like that, but the fear of falling. If you actually looked at Curry in the last 20 games, he actually started going to the rim and dragging a lot more, placing his body at the rest. So that was probably the most amazing thing that he became very physical even with that fear of probably falling and worrying about it was gonna hurt more.”

The 2x NBA MVP dropped 96 three-pointers in the month of April. Later, he led the Warriors to a six-game win-streak and helped them close the regular season at #8.

The 33-YO averaged 32 points and literally put his body on the line for the Bay Area to win. He’d not have minded playing a series or two if they would’ve kept advancing.

Going forward, one can expect Curry to play for Team USA in the Olympics before making a return as Splash Brothers.
