One of the biggest free agency sagas was of Trailblazers’ star Damian Lillard. After giving it his all in the playoffs last season, Lillard hinted at wanting out of Portland. He explained that his priority was competing, which didn’t seem possible with Portland. However, he may have given Portland fans some good news.
Lillard has been the franchise player for the Trailblazers for a long time. He has had some memorable performances for them. This includes his record-breaking 55 point performance, which ended up in a loss. But, through all the tough times, he has never given up on the organization.

However, the 31 YO came close to leaving the organization after this off-season. Dame has been with Portland for his entire career, with just one appearance in the conference finals. He has failed to even have an NBA finals appearance, let alone a championship under his belt. Hence, he wanted to leave to compete.
But, his recent Instagram post may suggest that he is committing to the city once again.

Damian Lillard back at Portland?
Lillard was arguably the hottest star on the market. He made it public that he wanted to compete on many occasions, but also said that he did not want to leave Portland. Well, his recent Instagram post seems to point at exactly that.
His recent post says that he is coming back for more. This suggests that Lillard will indeed complete his tenure as per his contract with the Trailblazers. Hence, this squashes all rumors of his move to any team. Moreover, it also destroys his purpose of trying to compete.
While the Trailblazers have been a successful organization, they are not on a championship level yet. They are still trying to develop a championship organization and Lillard seems to be the centerpiece. However, the 31 YO may not have that time on his hands.

Even though he seems to get better eventually, age catches up with everyone. Lillard has not made it clear yet if he intends to stay with Portland. Hence, he may stay until he is eligible to join a team of his choice.
