The Cleveland Cavaliers lost 10 games in a row in February before finally making a much-needed comeback. They’ve now won their last three games (scoring 112 in each) and still have their playoff hopes alive.

Two of their foremost talents, Collin Sexton and Darius Garland, have helped boost their offense, which is otherwise pretty weak. However, to their dismay, star player Larry Nance Jr. has been injured and is missing important games.

And now, his injury has brought him into the headlines after comparison with Lakers’ Kobe Bryant.

Injuries of Kobe Bryant and the Cavaliers’ forward: What’s the connection?

Larry Nance Jr. underwent surgery for his fractured finger, and that forced him to take a 4-6 weeks’ recovery break. He has played only 19 games out of Cavs’ 34 and averaged 9.3 points.

This did not go down well with a Cavalier fan who trolled Larry for sitting out while he could’ve allegedly played. The troll used a Kobe Bryant analogy to explain how The Black Mamba would play with his body on-the-line even in the face of an injury.

The 28-YO Larry did not welcome the comment and lashed out at the troll. He retaliated, “First off.. do not speak for what Kobe would do as if you knew him. That’s classless.”

Larry was right about Kobe missing games back in 1999-00. Even the following year in 2000-01, Kobe had missed 14 games because of a sprained ankle and sore foot.

Notably, Larry Nance Jr. was the round #1 pick #27 for the Lakers in 2015. He played 63 games alongside Kobe Bryant in the worst season of the Lakers’ franchise.

What lies ahead for the Cavs?

The Cavs, contrary to their 13-21 record, are a decent roster this season. They have Collin Sexton, who was earlier in the All-star conversation.

They also have two upcoming talents in point guard Darius Garland and rookie defender Isaac Okoro. Plus, the signings of Jarrett Allen (Nets), Taurean Prince (Nets), and JaVale McGee (Lakers) have really strengthened their bench.

However, they have faced some turbulence this season because of pertaining injuries. They’ve missed Kevin Love (Calf injury) for a stretch, and other players also kept missing games.

The side already lacks a wing that can create shots, and it is unlikely they’ll find one until the next draft. So, it is tough to say whether the Cavs would be able to work at their highest potential or not.

All that their fans can do is keep their fingers crossed and hope they have no more injuries.
