As the NBA moves halfway into the season, most teams appear settled in. However, the one team facing a lot of troubles is the Los Angeles Lakers. The LA team has had various struggles, from rotations all the way to injuries. Their main mistake might have been a player they let go in the off-season.

The decision to let go of fan-favorite, Alex Caruso, came back to haunt them in their battle against the Chicago Bulls.

The Lakers lost their first encounter to the Bulls this season. While it was Lonzo Ball who put his former team out of the equation in the last meeting, this time Caruso is showing off his improvement. The former Laker made his way to Chicago in the off-season and is having a season to remember.

Additionally, the Bulls’ mascot, Benny the Bull took his chance to troll the Lakers for their move.

As the Bulls enjoy a close game against the purple and gold, Benny the Bull took his shot at the Lakers. He came out with a poster of Alex Caruso in his hand. The poster took to troll the Lakers as it was the famous Wolverine meme. It shows the Lake show missing Caruso, and it could be for good reason.

While the Lakers have shown glimpses of what they are capable of, there have been several disappointments as well. Notably, their defense has dropped down a lot and the loss of Caruso may be a good reason. The 27-year-old was a big reason why the Lakers had one of the best defenses in the league last season.

Since his exit, the defense has been affected greatly.

Currently, the Lake show has no attacking defender on their roster. On the other hand, Caruso is having a career year leading the NBA in steals per game. Moreover, the Bulls’ team formation has worked really well for them as they are 17-10 for the season. If the Lake show did have Caruso in their lineup, their defense might have had a major boost.
