Before this season, the Cavaliers were a team at the bottom of the table. The last time they saw any success was when LeBron was a Cavalier. The King took them to several straight finals and even won a championship in 2016. However, since his departure, the Cavaliers have been a lottery team. That is, until this season, where the Cavaliers have turned things around.

Garland said: “Having our own legacy without having anything with ‘Bron to do with it, that would be pretty cool. Then having a playoff run without Bron for that long, I mean that’s pretty amazing. And just having the city behind out back. They have been waiting for this for a long time, so making the playoffs would mean a lot for the city of Cleveland and the Cavs organisation.”

The present-day Cavaliers are en route to be the first unit to make the playoffs since LeBron James. What the King did was sure special, but Garland has emerged as a great leader so far. With a solid combination of youth and veterans, the Cavaliers are a major threat this season.

Garland has stepped up in every facet of the game putting up 19.7 points and 7.9 assists per game. Their way of dominating with size has worked well as well. Having three 7 footers in the starting five has worked really well for them. Especially because all their bigs, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen and Lauri Markkanen can defend as well as play well on offense. They are sure on their way to making a legacy outside of the LeBron Cavaliers.
