Brittney Griner of the Phoenix Mercury is making headlines all over the world. However, it is for reasons which do not involve basketball. She was arrested a few months ago in Russia when she landed in Moscow from New York City.
The Russian officials found cannabis oil in her luggage, which subsequently led to her arrest on the 17th of February in Russia. This led to a long legal procedure that is going on for some time now.

Celebrities like Elon Musk, LeBron James, and even former President of the United States, Donald Trump, have given their opinions regarding Griner.
While LeBron called for the Government to help Griner, Trump thinks otherwise. He went all out to bash Griner for her actions and used words like ‘spoiled’.
Recently, eminent Bishop Talbert Swan joined the long list of people talking about Griner’s situation. Taking to Twitter, Swan openly called out Trump for his comments.

It is no secret that Brittney Griner has garnered a lot of haters during the past few months. Donald Trump recently talked about Griner and what he feels about her situation.
Trump said, “She knew you don’t go in there loaded up with drugs, and she admitted it. I assume she admitted it without too much force because it is what it is, and it certainly doesn’t seem like a very good trade, does it?”
He further added, “He’s absolutely one of the worst in the world, and he’s gonna be given his freedom because a potentially spoiled person goes into Russia loaded up with drugs.”
This came after increased reports of the Government planning to do a prisoner swap for Griner while sending Viktor Bout, a notorious arms dealer, back to Russia.
Many did not take well Trump’s words and Bishop Talbert Swan let his thoughts out on Twitter. He wrote, “An old privileged white dude born with a silver spoon in his mouth, who inherited millions of daddy’s money and property…”

Swan and Trump are not the only celebrities to speak out about Griner’s situation. Eminent NBA stars like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and also Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown have come in support of her.
