Talks between officials regarding Brittney Griner moving in the right direction

Although Brittney Griner has been sentenced to 9 years in prison, all hope is not lost for the former All-Star and her family. The Government plans to bring back Griner to the United States.

This is possible if Russia agrees to a prisoner swap which will send notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout back to Russia. On the other hand, Griner and former US Marine, Paul Whelan can go back to their country.

According to the latest reports, Russian officials confirmed that they are in talks over a potential prisoner swap. Interestingly enough, this is the first time after Griner’s verdict that officials have confirmed talks.
