Seeing Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverly on the same team will certainly be very awkward for some fans. After all, the two were arch rivals a few seasons ago.

However, it seems Westbrook and Beverly have buried the hatchet. During an interview, Beverly was asked to name his best friend and he chose Westbrook.

Moreover, even Russell Westbrook made some interesting comments regarding Beverly. He said, “Man, I’m an easy-going guy. I don’t hold grudges against anybody. Life is too short.“

Their beef started all the way back in 2013 when the Rockets took on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Following a hard dive from Beverley trying to recover a ball, the former MVP was injured. They had numerous battles on the court during their career which worsened their relationship over time.

Beverly and Westbrook fixing their troubled relationship will work wonders for the Los Angeles Lakers team. After a disappointing 2021-22 NBA season, the team would be looking to improve upon their performances.

Following last year’s disappointment, the Lakers team went through a major overhaul. Coach Frank Vogel was sacked and the team made some very interesting signings.

Russell Westbrook will be looking to redeem himself this season

Former MVP Russell Westbrook faced all the flak from the media and the fans last year. The Lakers failed to make it to the playoffs despite having players like Westbrook, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis on the roster.

Westbrook’s shooting was a major talking point across media debates. He shot just 44.4 % from the field during the 2021-22 season. Playing 78 games, he averaged 18.5 points, 7.1 assists, and 7.4 rebounds. With the new season just around the corner, Westbrook will surely be looking to redeem himself.
