Bryant is widely regarded as the greatest Laker ever and he won 5 NBA titles with this team. Interestingly enough, a web series regarding the Lakers of the 1980s dropped recently. Among the actors, Jason Segel portrays Paul West, and he talks about his experiences on Jimmy Kimmel Live! show.

Furthermore, he talked about the interaction he had with Kobe. According to him, after the interaction with Bryant, he got the job which had rejected him before.

If anyone has any doubt regarding the greatness of Kobe, actor Jason Segel just proved them wrong. Talking about his interaction with Kobe, he recalls the memory he remembers so vividly.

He said, “There’s a head of a studio who didn’t want to hire me. So, the agency gave him a ticket to the Laker game. And then without telling him, they gave me the other ticket to the Laker game. So we show up and we are sitting next to each other and he is like he really doesn’t want to be here.

Segel adds, “Kobe saw me out of the corner of his eyes and he left layup lines and ran over and gave me a hug. He said, “Pardon my french, you’re a funny motherf**ker”. And then he went back and started playing basketball. Yeah, and I got the job the next day. I literally got the job the next day.

This just shows how great Kobe Bryant was. One hug and a few words of appreciation for a struggling actor by Kobe literally changed his entire fortune.

Interestingly enough, the actor Kobe helped would portray an essential part of the Los Angeles Lakers franchise. HBO announced Segel as the actor who plays Paul West, the assistant coach during the 1980s.
