The Warriors, even without Klay Thompson, produced a phenomenal 2020-21 season. They were on the verge of becoming the #7 seed when the Lakers managed a second-half turnaround in their play-in game. But the Dubs nation would still remember the year for the character and bravery that they showed against the top teams.

However, it was still saddening to see a three-time champion team again falling short of entering the postseason. And this result can repeat itself if Klay Thompson does not rejoin the team at the right time. So what’s the update on his comeback status?

Klay Thompson raised the curtains on his much-awaited return

Recently, the lover of waters and the promoter of outdoor activities, Klay Thompson went live to answer some of his fans’ curious questions. Holding a Starbucks coffee in his hands while enjoying lively music, the star player did a quick Q&A. Out of all the questions, he answered an important one that obviously questioned his injury status.

The 31-YO champion gave the fresh update and added, “Recovery is going though, it’s slow, Achilles is tedious. Man, lit up today… with everything this world can be to me **singing**”

He is a true lover of spending time on his yacht and perhaps his recovery is giving him all the time in the world to follow those hobbies. In another post, he had called himself a “cozy seal” who would trace waters all alone in his wetsuit. Water therapy for the shooting champ!

What can the Warriors expect from the upcoming season?

Given that Klay injured himself in early December, it’s clear that he will not step on the court before that month. This means he might as well miss 20 games in the coming season to make that “complete” recovery so he can play like the Klay who had dropped 60 points on just 11 dribbles in one of the quarters.

Another thing, they’ve hinted that they might retain James Wiseman after the rookie enjoyed a successful meniscus surgery. Plus, there is a rumor that they might attract either Bradley Beal or Gordon Hayward in the off-season to further strengthen their offense. However, it will all come down to the better half of the Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry, and also the veteran in Draymond Green to reproduce their current form.

So what do you think, would they give away Andrew Wiggins to make way for another star? Would Klay’s entry again make them a championship contender? Help us know your views in the comments below.
