What do you think of when you hear the name Skip Bayless? Is it the GOAT debate? Or the endless, unreasonable hate for LeBron James? Is it the Michael Jordan glazing? Or is it the wild takes that leave your head spinning? Regardless of what hits home for you, one thing is undeniable — Skip has a way of making statements that linger. And his latest take on the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards is certainly memorable, if nothing else.
The Timberwolves lost tonight’s Western Conference Game 4 by 2 points, 126-128, to the OKC Thunder. It was a winnable game for the Wolves. But in the end, they couldn’t stop the 2025 MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from getting the W and a 40-ball tonight. What’s worse is that Ant-Man was uncharacteristically quiet tonight. And this clearly didn’t sit well with Skip.
Following the game, Bayless took to X and insinuated that the 23-year-old couldn’t cope with the pressures of such a high-stakes encounter. “Once again, Ant Man was Can’t Man when it mattered most. Tell me I’m wrong,” wrote Bayless.

Turns out, even Anthony Edwards is not spared from Skip Bayless’ brutal takes. Well, no one is really, except Michael Jordan. Ant’s Team USA teammate, LeBron James, has dealt with Skip’s brutal criticism of him throughout his career. His only crime? Not being the MJ. From saying he is not a first-ballot Hall of Famer to saying a retired, 52-year-old MJ could beat a prime, 30-year-old LeBron — Skip has never held back his wild opinions.
And Anthony Edwards is the latest to feel the veteran analyst’s wrath. But was it earned tonight? Ant only put up 16 points and grabbed only 4 boards — a really quiet night by his usual lofty standards. However, what’s worse is that even his teammates weren’t able to pick up the slack. And now, the Thunder have one foot in the door of the NBA Finals.
What’s your perspective on:
Did Anthony Edwards choke under pressure, or is Skip Bayless just stirring the pot again?

Minnesota are on the verge of another Western Conference Finals exit as Anthony Edwards falters
Game 4 was a poor display from the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ starters. Only one player broke the 20-point ceiling. But what’s worse is that 2 of their starters — Julis Randle and Mike Conley– ended the game in single digits. But they were spared the fans’ wrath. Why? Well, much like Skip Bayless, everyone’s concern lay with Anthony Edwards and his 16-point showing.
Ant went 5-13 from the field, and he had the same number of shots made as turnovers — 5. He only made 1 field goal in the first half of the game. Even his head coach, Chris Finch, noted this slow start for the 23-year-old. “The first half, he lagged a little too much. Second-half was much better,” said Finch.

Moreover, to paint Ant’s failings in a much worse light, his Thunder counterpart, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took home a 40-ball tonight, ending the game with a 40-point, 10-assist double-double. However, none of this overshadows the fact that the Timberwolves are at risk of elimination. They needed Edwards to step up tonight, and he couldn’t.

And now, his team has one foot out the door while the Thunder are one win away from the NBA Finals. Will Ant meet the same fate he meted out to LeBron James and Stephen Curry — a 5-game series loss? Or can he stage the greatest comeback of his career and win this series after going 3-1 down? Well, whatever he does, we’re sure Skip Bayless will have an opinion on it. And knowing him, it will probably be as divisive as LeBron’s move to Miami.
