The 2020 NBA season was a unique experience altogether for fans and players alike. The world faced an unprecedented situation with the advent of the global pandemic and basketball, like many other industries, took a major hit. With huge changes to existing rules, the 2020 NBA season took place at the Orlando Bubble and it featured some of the best basketball in the past few years. Although LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA title that year, a certain section of fans do not count their achievement.

Talking about such allegations in a recent podcast appearance, Damian Lillard put all those claims and allegations to rest by sharing his thoughts.

King James led the Lakers to win the Lake Show’s 17th NBA title and his fourth NBA title. However, a huge number of NBA fans discredit the Lakers’ 2020 NBA championship.

The reason being? The entire NBA season had a very crammed schedule, and it was played in the Orlando Bubble. During a recent appearance on the Back on Figg podcast, Trailblazers star, Damian Lillard dismissed all those allegations. He mentioned he was playing some of his best basketball during that time and that was the case with other NBA stars as well. “Why doesn’t it count? Nobody else won it. Everybody else had the same opportunity. Everybody else had the same opportunity to win it, so why didn’t they win it”, said the 6-time NBA All-Star.

The Trailblazers have a lot of respect for King James. A few months ago, Lillard publically called out LeBron’s haters on Twitter. He also mentioned that James has lived up to the hype he was expected of while he was in high school.

James had once tried to recruit Lillard

LeBron James is well known for being actively involved in his team’s trades. A few seasons ago, the NBA’s All-Time Top Scorer met up with Lillard in order to lure him to the Lakers.

LeBron had invited Lillard to his house in Brentwood. “He was just like, ‘Pull up to the house'”, said Lillard about the interaction. James had a chat with Lillard about a potential linkup with himself and Anthony Davis. However, that move never materialized.
