With Julius Randle sidelined for an extended period, the Knicks face a new challenge. They have to devise alternative strategies to replicate his effectiveness on the court. Furthermore, there is also a task of filling the void left by Randle’s absence in terms of minutes on the court. Even though they lack a traditional backup power forward, Anunoby can emerge as a viable option to receive additional minutes. Furthermore, through his defensive mindset, they can emulate some, if not all, of Randle’s contributions. Moreover, they can also gain not only from Thibodeau’s experience in successfully deploying small-ball lineups in the recent past.
