Anamaria recently shared that her hospital bag is “ready to go,” and the internet instantly knew what that meant. Number 77’s baby number two is almost here. The update sparked plenty of joy on X, where one comment wrote, “Anamaria on IG has her hospital bag ready 🥰 Luka gonna be a daddy again❤️.”

The pregnancy was first reported by Suzy magazine in October, hinting that little Gabriela may soon have a new teammate. Despite their global fame, the star couple has kept their growing family life intentionally private. The couple has not announced the pregnancy. What they do occasionally is share glimpses of family life online, but always protect their daughter’s identity by keeping her face hidden in photos.

Luka Doncic and Anamaria Goltes share a rare kind of love story, one that started when they met as kids in Croatia. They’ve grown up side by side, turning a childhood friendship into a lasting partnership. Meeting at 12 and still building a life together is remarkable, yet their relationship has stayed steady, evolving naturally through every chapter. Not only that, Goltes has been part of Luka’s journey from Europe to NBA superstardom, grounding him through every high-pressure moment.

As Luka once explained, “I met her in Croatia in the same camp I go to now. I met her when we were 11. I’m really happy to have her; it’s been great. She helps me a lot. It’s a lot of pressure outside. When I get home, it’s no basketball talk. She don’t like basketball, but she goes to every game. She likes it now, but she didn’t like it [earlier]. Which is good for me, I really like that.”

Their connection has always been deeper than titles. Goltes perfectly captured this sentiment in a 2018 Instagram post, writing., “People have [a] best friend, boyfriend, true love. I’m lucky they are all the same person.” Doncic proposed to her on July 7, 2023, during a romantic evening in Slovenia while she was pregnant with their daughter, Gabriela, who arrived that December and completed their growing family.

“Nothing better than being a dad”: Luka Doncic’s candid acknowledgement between family and basketball

In a February 2025 interview, shortly after joining the Lakers, Luka Doncic opened up about stepping into fatherhood for the first time. Then, Luka couldn’t help laughing as he remembered how the news was delivered. “Funny story ’cause my fiancée told me that on April 1st and I couldn’t really believe it, but it was really true.” It was the surprise that instantly changed everything for him.

Once it finally sank in, Luka realized just how deeply life had shifted. Fatherhood grounded him in a way nothing in basketball ever had. “That moment changed my life for the better. Every day I spend with her it’s just unbelievable. She’s one year and two months. Just seeing her and spending time with my daughter, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Luka, usually composed in that calm Slovenian poise that defines him on and off the court, spoke with a softness fans rarely see. The competitive fire disappeared, replaced by something far more personal. “Like I said, it changed my life for better. I’m ready for it, and I’m gonna enjoy every moment of it. Nothing better than being a dad for real.” To be honest, fatherhood did have a positive impact on Doncic’s play, too. Since Gabriela was born, the Slovenian star has been in red-hot form, especially in the very year she was born.

Now, with baby number two on the way and a new chapter unfolding in Los Angeles, the Doncic family looks ready to embrace every blessing coming their way. On the court, Luka is matching that momentum with an MVP-caliber season, averaging roughly 37.1 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 9.1 assists. If he keeps this pace, the LA Lakers’ hopes for an 18th championship may rise right alongside the growing Doncic family.
