A six-year-old managed to will the Lakers to a win against the Denver Nuggets. You read that right. This isn’t an assumption. Even LeBron James said it. That fan went viral on the Jumbotron, screaming his lungs out and wearing a Shaquille O’Neal jersey. His passion inspired the Lakers’ effort against one of their toughest rivals. Luka Doncic made sure that energy lingered far beyond one night.

The fan, named Jackson Tuyay, attended his first Lakers game and left with unforgettable memories. The six-year-old was first crowned the ‘Fan of The Game’, receiving a $100 free gift card. But a lot more was waiting for him after the game. He got a special message from Luka Doncic’s camp.

According to the LA Times, Jackson Tuyay has received an exclusive invite from Doncic for the next Lakers home game. The Lakers are currently in the middle of a six-game road trip, facing the Houston Rockets tonight. The next time they play at home will be against the Brooklyn Nets on March 28.

That’s when Jackson Tuyay will have the chance to lead a pack of Lakers fans once again. There’s something about the innocence of his support. “I just wanted the Lakers to win because I thought it would be cool,” he said. That was all the six-year-old fan needed to scream the entire night.

The game was a thriller with dramatic late surges. The Lakers built leads but saw Denver storm back from as many as 17 points down to force overtime (tied at 118-118 after regulation).

In the final moments of regulation, Austin Reaves intentionally missed a free throw, rebounded his own miss, and laid it in with 1.9 seconds left to tie the game and send it to OT.

In overtime, Luka Doncic delivered the heroics: He finished with a triple-double of 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists.

With the score tied and just 0.5 seconds remaining, he hit a tough baseline step-back fadeaway jumper (creating space from defender Spencer Jones) to give the Lakers a 127-125 lead.

Doncic then sealed it by blocking Tim Hardaway Jr.’s desperation heave at the buzzer.

Meanwhile, Jackson feels there’s a lot more wins coming for the Lakers. However, Laker Nation already appears happy.

NBA fans react to Luka Doncic’s heartwarming gesture

When Jackson Tuyay was screaming with everything he had, the Lakers fan followed. His energy was infectious, reaching even the players. Likewise, with Doncic extending an invite to bring that energy again, fans were delighted. “Luka REALLY our Franchise player!” a fan wrote.

When they weren’t winning games, the building felt dull. The case against the Nuggets was the same until Jackson showed up on the Jumbotron. “He wants the crowd to wake up! It’s so quiet when they play at home! Y’all have LUKA DONCIC on your team! Stand up and shout!” a fan mentioned.

Luka Doncic has built a reputation for heartfelt, personal gestures toward fans, especially younger ones, often turning brief encounters into lasting memories through signed or even game-worn items.

This pattern was already evident early in his NBA career, as a fan added, “Luka is just a good dude”.

In early 2020, he surprised a 9-year-old fan, Brayden Whitley, by personally removing, signing, and gifting his game-worn shoes after the boy was lifted courtside to meet him during a Mavericks game. That moment wasn’t an isolated act, but part of a broader tendency to connect with fans in meaningful ways.

Similarly, in late 2019, after accidentally bumping into a young fan during play, Doncic went out of his way to make amends- delivering a signed, game-worn jersey to the youngster after the game. Instances like these highlight not just spontaneity, but a consistent awareness of the impact he has on fans.

Beyond these headline moments, there have been numerous smaller but telling gestures: signing and giving away his shoes before his 20th birthday in 2019, along with frequent meet-and-greets and autograph sessions that reinforce his approachable image.

More recently, that same spirit of generosity has extended to longtime supporters in a larger, more organized way. Following his trade to the Lakers, Doncic hosted 22 loyal Mavericks fans in a private suite during his return to Dallas.

The experience included pregame meet-and-greets, gift bags filled with his signature shoes, Lakers jerseys bearing his name, and other merchandise, an intentional gesture of appreciation for fans who had supported him even after his departure.

Additionally, the Lakers are now a third seed. The team is currently on a win streak, picking up momentum right before the playoffs. In the postseason, it’s games at home that count. Hence, Laker Nation also made an additional appeal. “We need more of this and less billionaires that are too good to shout…. We need an actual home court advantage….. PLEASE,” one such comment read.

It’s after a mediocre patch that everything is clicking for the Lakers. They are winning games, and players have bought in. Those developments have inspired a passion within fans.

“This lil man is bringing the energy we need from Crypto as the playoffs are coming up!” another fan gave Jackson Tuyay his props. They seem to be in unison. LA may be about celebrity appearances at games.

However, it’s a six-year-old kid who has become the most important fan in the arena. They want to see him as often as possible, screaming and reminding the Lakers of their purpose when the going gets tough.
