For years, Skip Bayless appeared on our screens, making wild claims about the GOAT debate. He thinks Michael Jordan is better and won’t hear otherwise. And this has led to some iconic moments and takes over the years. But now, at the age of 73, Skip may have made the boldest move of his career. A move that put him on the radar of 2x NBA champion Kevin Durant.
Skip Bayless stepped down from his position at FS1. To put it mildly, his retirement was a sad day for everyone who enjoyed his out-of-the-box takes. But now, Skip is on a different platform. He’s an online presence with the Skip Bayless Show YouTube channel, with over 221k subscribers. Recently, in a collaboration with Barstool Sports, he took on 15 LeBron fans in a debate to prove that Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.
And how were the reactions to this? Well, they were mixed. Some fans thought he was delusional. Others thought he spoke nothing but facts. But Kevin Durant was amused by Skip. He laughed at the former co-host of Undisputed, simply commenting, “😂” on Barstool’s Instagram post.

Now, you may be wondering, ‘Why’s Kevin Durant reacting to what Skip Bayless is doing?” Well, then you may not be familiar with the long rivalry that these two have with each other. You see, Skip Bayless has famously claimed over the years that he’d take KD over LeBron as a player, any day.
However, that never stops Skip from going at Durant. Sometimes, it’s because he thinks KD is “washed”. But there was one time when it was Kevin Durant who started the beef after Skip Bayless actually praised him.
Kevin Durant, Skip Bayless, and the infamous “really don’t like u” tweet
The year was 2021, and the Brooklyn Nets had just beaten the Toronto Raptors. Kevin Durant put up 34 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists for the Nets in the overtime victory. He did all this with only 7 other players alongside him, as James Harden and a lot of other Nets players were in COVID-19 protocol.

Is Skip Bayless delusional or just speaking the truth about Michael Jordan being the GOAT?

Soon, Skip would pipe up, heaping praise onto KD while also taking a shot at LeBron. “The Best Player on the Planet was at it again tonight in Brooklyn, going assassin in overtime for the COVID-rocked Nets. Nothing like Kevin Durant. You watch, Bron?” wrote Skip on X or Twitter as it was called back then.

KD didn’t find things amusing this time. No, instead, he roasted Skip Bayless with a simple yet searing comeback. “I really don’t like u,” wrote KD, replying to Skip’s tweet. And it instantly went viral as fans poked fun at Skip, getting brutally grilled by KD on social media. Skip would then provide a lengthy response two days later on Undisputed.

“He’s as strange off the court as he is on the court,” said Skip. He accused KD of motivating himself by creating controversy, among other things. But K,D having had his fill, did not prolong this feud back then.
However, it seems like the beef remains between KD and Skip Bayless. And Durant’s reaction to Skip’s debate only cements that. But Durant should know that getting into a feud with media personalities like Skip Bayless or Stephen A. Smith doesn’t really end well. He can ask his Team USA teammate LeBron James all about it.
