The Houston Rockets have hit the right notes throughout the night. The visitors, the Los Angeles Lakers, didn’t have any option other than taking the blow. Importantly, the home side put up a steady lead in the first quarter and continued to build pressure on it, pushing the Lakers to the cliff. Amid this domination, the Rockets star Dillon Brooks rubbed salt in the wound by taunting LeBron James.

While the duo already has a history, Brooks took the opportunity to trash-talk James. During the fourth quarter, Dillon the Villian dropped a jumper over James to balloon the lead to 25 points. Following the bucket, Brooks kept taunting James on his way back to the defense.

James, in response, just shook his head and ignored the 28-year-old. The 4x NBA Champion couldn’t do much after that, as he clocked out with 4 minutes left on the clock. He ended the game with 23 points with 6 rebounds and 10 assists. And, apart from Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell, Bron didn’t get any support from the rest of the roster.

On the other hand, Dillon Brooks dropped 17 points, supporting the rest of the side. Along with that, he also took the job to restrict the Lakers superstar. Minutes after taunting the superstar, he also received a flagrant foul for swiping his arm at James’ face. The game came to a brief pause, as James lied on the floor in pain for a bit.

While it may seem like an ordinary beef between the King and Brooks. It all began last season when the Lakers took on the Memphis Grizzlies in the first-round playoff series.

During the Grizzlies-Lakers playoff series, Brooks went on the post-game interview and took a shot at James. He said, “I poke bears. I don’t respect no one until they come and give me 40 (points).” While James didn’t really acknowledge Brooks’ statement, he repaid it to him on the court with a win.

But he didn’t stop. He went up a notch higher, Brooks took a swipe at Bron’s groin and was ejected out of the game. This was enough for the superstar to send the team off the backdoor. On the other hand, Brooks refused to appear in front of the media after the series’ loss.

And, he moved to the Rockets this season and old habits die hard. He picked up from where he left in the last season.
